This commission was to make a pair of cabinets to utilise wasted space in a bedroom. The design constraint here being that a bed was going to obscure most of the cabinets so I chose to fit sliding doors. The client wanted light coloured timber so the doors and face frame are made from high quality birch plywood and the top from pine that I laminated together into a solid piece.

Commissions like this are, I feel, a good argument in favour of fitted furniture because it’s unlikely that an off-the-shelf cupboard would fit neatly in those openings.
