I was very grateful to receive this request for a solid oak console table. The design brief was to keep things sleek and simple with the only definite requirement being that the top is made from a single slab of oak. I spent a long time finding the right slab for this piece but it was worth the effort because it’s a beautiful piece of oak that perfectly fits the dimensions of the table, and more importantly the clients hallway.

I added only subtle details to the leg assembly so it doesn’t take focus away from the table top, such as a gentle taper on the legs and a small space to lift the top from the legs. It all came together into a piece that I’m very proud of.
