This solid oak jewellery box was a challenging commission as I had to balance functional storage requirements against making a piece with visual interest. However I enjoyed working on a smaller scale, it tested my skill and precision. I built the lid with a curved panel that I then carved into to create a faceted surface that is tactile and makes you want to touch it.

As with previous commission pieces I worked with my client to arrive at a design that suited both form and function with plenty of room for storage. The box is made from solid oak, featuring a lift out tray with more storage underneath, as well as solid brass hardware.
